Partridge and SALAR Salmon Hooks
I hope by now you have already heard the news that we have bought Partridge from Mustad so wanted to update you, as I will from time-to-time, with the status of what is going at Partridge – news, views, product developments and upcoming events all to keep you better informed. For your part, don’t be shy, we would like to hear from you – what you need, what we can help you with and what would help to improve our business with you. Fly patterns and pictures of memorable moments (fish or otherwise) would also be appreciated so that we can put on our website to keep it interesting and up-to-date.

Stock of hooks has probably been the biggest issue as far as the trade and fly tyers are concerned over the past three years. We have already delivered a considerable amount of stock into the trade by drawing down on the stock reserves in place with Mustad. At the beginning of December we placed and started the process of transferring all remaining stocks to the UK so that we can start the new year by providing prompt and continous supply and to start to re-build the reputation and fortunes of Partridge of Redditch. As you can imagine we needed more space so we are going to be occupying our new logistics centre in Wincanton from the end of January 2010.

With immediate effect we will also be re-introducing patterns that were dropped by Shakespeare / Pure Fishing over the years as they did not consider them to be demanded in the market. Some immediate patterns that spring to mind are the E1A, J1A, and G3ST straight-eyed streamer. I can’t promise to re-instate production of every pattern that ever was, but we will certainly re-introduce a few.

That means that ALL products in the Partridge range will be available in the UK – a good example is the MM3ST Nordic Tube Hook that have never seen the light of day on the Scottish rivers. It has a short shank and open gape, black chrome and available in sizes 2 to 10

Beside all the classics that we have found, there are a number of new products already that are being delivered from stock;

• CS14/2 Salar Double – now available in sizes 13 and 15 in gold, silver and black

• X2 Long-Shank Trebles – now available in sizes 14, 16, 18 and 20 in gold, silver and black

• CZ Czech Nymph – integrates SHR (they were in fact the same pattern) and offers all sizes and now available in smaller sizes 18 and 20

• CZF Czech Nymph fine wire – now available in two smaller sizes 14 and 16

• 15G Klinkhamer - complete range now available in gold

• BMD Big Mouth Double – now available in smaller sizes 18 and 20

• HND Heavy Nymph Double – now available in smaller sizes 18 and 20
